Break it up. Start again.

With the 10,000th post on Adventurez.tumblr.com/internet.gov, I’ve decided to formally end this Tumblr as it has existed up until this point. Important, ground-breaking announcement, right? Right?

Really though, this is more of an acknowledgement of the course that this blog has been taking naturally. It seems that (like most internet sites) that eventually even the strongest adherents of a site have their interest wane in using the format. Some choose to delete their profile entirely. Others leave it up and just slowly use it less and less frequently. I’ve been doing the latter. Even though I’m making this formal declaration of sentiments to end my Tumblr, I won’t be gone for good.

I think that’s been pretty clear recently. My recent activity has been a far cry from my 10-20 posts per day peak, and it’s gotten to the point that I make one post a day, if that. It’s not something that I’ve been consciously doing, but just something that’s been occurring organically as my life has been changing. So, it’s really more of an evolution from one state to another, than an end of anything.

I’m not going to delete Adventurez.tumblr.adventurezblog.net That’s partially because I run a few other blogs via Tumblr. (SHAMELESS DOLPHIN/SHARK PLUG)

But, the real reason is that if I was to delete my blog I would lose contact with a lot of ~internet bros~ that I genuinely like and would totally miss, in that weird, slightly guilt-tinged way that you can miss someone you’ve never actually met in the traditional sense of the word.

So, I’ll be unfollowing all of the “FuckYeahX” blogs that I follow, and anyone else with whom I don’t really interact. According to Tumblr, there are more than 500 of you kids following this pseudo-blog, and I’m fairly certain that at least 20 of those are not Porn Advertising Robots. So, if you want to get off here and unfollow Adventurez.tumblr.com, I won’t have any hard feelings.

I’ll still be around though, just far more intermittently. I’ll still be over at Dolphin/Shark pretending to write about music, and I know that I won’t be able to completely discard my Dashboard Scroll + Music Listening habit. I’ve got a whole lot of posts still warming up in my Drafts, so there’ll definitely be future posts to help ease the transition for any of your who suffer from separation anxiety.

To everyone who ever looked at this site, thank you and I love you.
